VILKMA, the company we know today, was established in 1967, celebrating in 2007 its 40th anniversary. But its history and the history of the sewing industry in Ukmerge, its main location, started long before that.
VILKMA is the final stage of a history that started in the early 1900´s during the establishment of multiple co-operative alliances in different parts of Lithuania.
In 1967, Ukmerge's long and intense garment making activity finally found under the name “VILKMA” the way to independently continue to build on its successful history, keeping intact the knowledge and experience of more than 70 years.
